Welcome!

Welcome to Sensory Stitches!  A mother and daughter company founded to help provide affordable weighted sensory aids for the special needs community.  We are a new company starting from the ground up.  Currently we are offering two different products--

The Sammy Snake neck wrap is available in 3 pound or 5 pound weights.  It is made with a removable, machine washable flannel cover.  The cover slips over the wrap like a pillow case and velcros on the end.  The wrap is weighted with aquarium pebbles so it is also washable (recommended hand wash).  The edges around the wrap are machine sewn and finished with a serger to ensure no escaping pebbles.  Sammy Snake measures 30 inches long by 4 inches wide.
Cost - $35

The Lap Buddy lap pad is made of cozy soft fleece.  It is padded and sized perfectly to fit on a child's lap.  The best thing about the Lap Buddy is that it is completely machine washable.  Just toss the whole thing in with your wash--how easy is that?  :o)  You can dry it in the dryer, but it is recommended air dry.  The weight comes from 1-pound packets of aquarium pebbles inserted in between the padding.  The packets are serged on all sides to ensure that there will be no escaping pebbles.  The Lap Buddy is available in 2, 3, or 4 pound weights.  It is also available as fringed (12 inches by 16 inches) or unfringed (10 inches by 14 inches).
Cost - $30

We are pleased to offer free delivery/pick-up through Spot On Therapies, LLC in Naperville.  Shipping is available for additional charge.  Our designs are customizable (special print fabric, different weights, etc.) for an additional cost of $15.  Currently we are offering several different fabrics for each of our products.

  1. I love these! How much weight is recommended for a 43lb six yr old girl?

    Thanks for making affordable options!

  2. Thanks! Usually it is recommended that you go with around 5% of a child's body weight and sometimes add a pound. My daughter benefits from the heavier the better, so we go heavier than 5% of her weight and she loves all of the extra input she gets from the weight! If you'd like to e-mail me at sensorystitches@gmail.com we can talk about what would be best for your little girl. ~Jami
